The Tatra Truck Museum was built with the help of the European Union, thanks to a grant of 104.8 million CZK from the European Regional Development Fund. The total cost of the project was 173 million CZK. The project aims to create a uniquely comprehensive presentation of the history of Tatra trucks – an important technical heritage that belongs to an advanced automotive tradition in the region. The new museum is housed in an unused foundry building on the premises of TATRA TRUCKS a. s., owned by the Moravian-Silesian Region and specifically reconstructed for this purpose. The building has become a new branch of the Museum of Nový Jičín Region, a public non-profit organisation.
